THE BRAND LAUNCHES ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION TO GIVE 15 MEALS FOR EVERY PRODUCT SOLD
In 2020, Bella Tunno has a lot to celebrate.
15 years of fresh, fun design.
15 years of colorful and personality-filled product launches.
15 years of big wins, big failures and big learnings.
But the real reason to celebrate is 15 years of giving.
True to their initial purpose, Bella Tunno has never sold a product without donating back to a charitable organization. In the past 15 years, the commitment to philanthropic purpose has allowed Bella Tunno to be part of changing lives and breaking destructive family cycles. This is the exact reason that the founder, Michelle Tunno Buelow, launched Bella Tunno back in 2005. After losing her brother, Matt, to addiction in 2003, she committed to launching a brand committed to using product sales to support philanthropic needs that would help other families avoid the pain and trauma her family endured.
The giving was community focused and addition related in the early years. When Buelow came across a statistic in 2014 stating that 1 in 6 children in the US goes to bed hungry every day, she knew that she had to help. In November 2014, in addition to the other philanthropic work being done, Bella Tunno launched the Buy One Feed One initiative where for every product sold, one meal would be donated to one child. To date, over 3 million meals have been donated.
It will come as no surprise that the Bella Tunno team is not celebrating their 15th birthday in a traditional way. Although they love cupcakes and confetti, instead, they are launching an Anniversary Bib Collection that will give 15 meals for every product sold. “It’s our birthday gift to the world – we are going to exponentially multiply the meals we can donate through our anniversary bib. There’s no better gift then to know that we’re doing everything we can to combat child hunger. Hunger is a huge issue worldwide. It’s the #2 Sustainable Development Goal of the United Nations, right behind poverty.” The bib reads “This Bib Feeds Kids” and aims to start a conversation to end child hunger. The bib is offered in three colorways and will be a limited release through the end of 2020.
This collection comes on the heels of the Kindness Collection, a collection with humanity focused mantras that donated 2 meals for every product sold.
